Penny Vlachou
HCPC Registered Dietitian
BSc, MSc, PGCert, COSCA Counselling Skills Practitioner
Penny is a Registered Dietitian with over 14 years of NHS and private practice experience, helping people reconnect with balance, so that food becomes both nourishing and enjoyable.
We are all born with a natural intuition around eating, but our life journey, health challenges, or conflicting media messages can make it understandably confusing to know what is right when it comes to food. Penny helps people translate complex nutrition science into practical, evidence-based strategies that improve both current vitality and long term health. Her specialist interest lies in nutrition for healthy ageing and longevity, with expertise in cardiometabolic health, metabolic syndrome and inflammation markers, insulin resistance, prediabetes and type 2 diabetes, weight management, and disordered eating.
Recognising that lasting health is about more than simply knowing what to eat, Penny integrates behavioural psychology and counselling skills into her consultations to help people create meaningful, lasting change. Having worked as a specialist eating disorders dietitian for many years now, she has expertise in supporting individuals who struggle with emotional eating, disordered eating patterns or repeated dieting cycles, helping them build a healthier relationship with food while achieving their health goals.

Penny also has extensive experience in women’s health, including fertility, PCOS, and menopause, as well as Sports nutrition, Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S), gastrointestinal health, plant-based nutrition and chronic fatigue.
Working closely with the multidisciplinary team, Penny completes a comprehensive nutritional assessment alongside personalised nutrition and lifestyle interventions to help patients optimise key health markers, improve energy and resilience, and support healthy living. Every nutrition plan is tailored to the individual’s medical history and primarily to their lifestyle and routine, ensuring recommendations are practical and sustainable.
